The 13th SEALLF Conference is to be held at the University of Florida. The organizing team is calling for abstracts due June 30th 2023.

SEALLF Call for Abstracts

The University of Florida would like to announce that we will host the 13th South East African Languages and Literatures Forum from September 29th to 30th. The theme of the conference is:

"New directions in African languages and literature"

This is an opportune theme given recent technological developments, on the one hand, and enrollment challenges in African languages and literatures, on the other. The sub-themes of the conference are:

Sustainability

Pedagogy

Technology

Challenges & obstacles to new pathways

Experiential learning in African languages

From Theory to Practice

Film and Pop Culture

Animation

And other related topics.

In order to be guaranteed shared hotel accommodation, we would like participants to send their abstracts to 13thSEALLF@gmail.com by June 30th.

Conference Membership and Registration Fees

For members, a total of $80, meaning a $50 registration fee and a $30 membership fee.

For graduate students, $40 means $25 for the registration fee and $15 for the membership fee. Members-students in Africa and non-western countries bring a total of $25, meaning $15 for registration fees and $10 for membership fees.
